Broadford Kilbane/Kilmore won The Contemporary/Irish dance competition in Athlone at the May 2011 weekend. Sarah Ward Murphy, Claire Dillon, Aoife Cremins, Aoife O Brien, Alexandra Troy and Marie Vaughan battled it out with their version of Alice in Wonderland against 19 other finalist to win the All Ireland title. The girls created an Irish /Contemporary dance combining creativity, talent and drama to produce a very enjoyable performance. Practice was very intensive from the word go and took place in many different venues including the local garage, where customers were entertained and bemused by the girls. Their dedication (and their parents' dedication) and hard work paid off when they scooped the top prize in the county finals held in 'The Bridge' and subsequently the ultimate prize The All Ireland Final. Broadford/Kilbane/Kilmore Community Games are delighted with their success and wish them great success in the future with their talent.
