Chess is a mixed competition catering for Under 12 and Under 16 age groups. A panel consists of 7 (5 players, 2 subs). The panel may be all boys, all girls or mixed.
Each of the 5 competitors plays one game each, with 1 point awarded for a win, 0.5 for a draw and 0 for a loss. In the event of a draw, each of the 5 games are replayed.
Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.
Full Chess rules are available on the Community Games website.
The winning teams go through to represent Clare in the Munster Finals, around March, and the winners of that progress to the National Finals in May.
