Clare Community Games

The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games Choir competition took place on Fri night in the GAA Hall in Sixmilebridge coordinated by Dolores O'Loughlin. The M.C. was Kevin O'Loughlin. The judges Ann Hayes and Brid Meaney had a difficult task deciding the winners. The number of teams was disappointingly low but what it lacked in quantity it made up for in quality. The standard was extremely high with Ennis St John's winning the U-13 category and Kilrush were the only entry in the U-16 competition. The winners in each age group go forward to represent Clare in the National Finals in May.

Ennis St John's U13 (Gold): - Paul Farren, Ann-Marie Conlisk, Aileen Curtin, Keava Scanlon, Caoimhe Duggan, Ciara Cassidy, Caoileann Kelly, James Casey, Ciara Kennedy, Alanna O'Connor, Cliona Curran, Lauren Cashell, Rachel Brennan, Bellvina Kido Obi, Christina Njekwe, Maria Daly, Eoin Martin, Errin Roche, Isioma Okeyenbulor, Colm Walsh O'Loghlen.

The Choir competition caters for the Under 13 and Under 16 age groups, with mixed panel of between 10 and 20 children.

The choir team has their own choice of 2 to 3 songs.  The overall performance must not exceed 12 minutes.

Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.

The winning teams go directly through to represent Clare in the National Finals in May in Athlone.

The Under 13 team from Kilrush and the Under 16 team from Killimer-Knockerra represented Clare in the Munster finals in UL in March 2010. Both teams went on to win the Munster competition and to compete at the first National weekend in Athlone in May.
