Community Games FAQs

As well as having a very active International Committee who forge links with various organisations abroad, Community Games is one of the founder members of the International Sport and Cultural Association (ISCA). The ISCA has, in a very short time, become an umbrella organisation for sporting and cultural organisations world-wide.

County Art and Model Making 2018 Print

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Art and Model Making County Finals took place in the CBS School , Ennis on Saturday 3rd of February. Congratulations to the gold medal winning girls and boys who will now represent their county in the National Finals in UL in May.

Many thanks to Cecilia O'Sullivan and all the volunteers who helped out before, during and after the competition. Uncollected Art entries may be collected by the area representative, along with any medals, at the next county meeting in the West County on Tues 6th Feb 9-10pm.

ART – Competition Rules

Age Category: U/8, U10, U12,U14 &U16 (Boys and Girls)

1. An exhibit must be based on a Community Games Activity

2. Maximum time allowed is 3 hours

3. The exhibit must clearly state the Name, Age Group, Area, on the back of it.

4. An exhibit may be a painting / drawing / collage or a cartoon

5. Competitors will use their own choice of paper in accordance

6. All materials must be scrutinised prior to the commencement of competition and if any material is deemed to be prepared, the competitor will be automatically disqualified.

7. The use of aerosols (spray paint etc.) in Art competitions is not allowed

8. Visual aids i.e. photographs, newspaper cuttings, transfers, etc., will not be permitted and adjudicators will request the removal of any item they consider as helping the competitor.

9. Exhibits may be reclaimed after the judging or at the next County meeting.

Model Making Competition Rules

Age Category: U10, U12, U14, U16 (Boys & Girls)

1. An exhibit must be based on a Community Games Activity.

2. Maximum time allowed is 3 hours

3. Any materials may be used except aerosol and spray paint

4. The title of each exhibit must be clearly marked on the front of the exhibit. The exhibit must clearly state the Name, Age Group, Area and Competition on the back of it

5. The Competitor is required to bring unprepared materials. All materials and equipment will be subject to the approval of the coordinator. Use of power tools and sharp blades are prohibited. Prepared items/materials will not be permitted; coordinator's decision is final.

6. Maximum size of an exhibit will be 60cm x 60cm x 60cm

7. Exhibits may be reclaimed after the judging or at the next county meeting.
