The Golden Vale County Clare Cycling competition was held on Friday 6th May in Quin National School.
Winners of County Cycling Competition: Lauren McConway, Moll Nolan, Cathal Browne and Barry Loughnane.

The Cycling competition caters for Boys and Girls in the U/14 (over 12 years) and U/12 (over 10 years) age groups. Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.
The distance will be 2km on grass.
A fixed gear of the participant’s choice to be allowed.
Cyclists will use their own bikes. Subject to approval of the Activities Committee.
Protective headgear must be worn by all competitors, at all levels of competition.

In the National Finals where there are only 16 or less competitors the first 4 be taken from two heats and those 8 go into a straight finals.

Quin/Clooney once again excelled at the cycling event at the National Finals in Athlone in August 2010. Lauren McConway secured a Gold medal in the U14 Cycling event and Jennifer O'Neill returned home with a Bronze medal in the U12 Cycling event. Quin/Clooney also hosted the County cycling event earlier in the year.
