The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games Gaelic Football events took place over the weekend. Kilmihill won the U12 Girls competition in Lissycasey on Friday 13 May and Doora/Barefield won the U10 Boys competition in Quin on Sunday 15th May. Many thanks to event co-ordinators Kieran Harvey and Fiach McHugh.

The Under 10 Gaelic Football competition caters for Boys and/or Girls, who must be over 7 years of age. 20 minutes each way.
There is also an Under 12 Girls Gaelic Football competition. Players must be over 8 years of age. 25 minutes each way.
Panel size of 20, with 15 players and 5 subs.
A minimum of 12 players are required to participate.
If at the end of play both sides are level, then 5 mins of extra time are played each way. If sides are still drawn, then match goes to sudden death, with teams swapping ends every 5 mins.
The winning team goes through to represent Clare in the Munster finals, usually in July.

The County Girls U-12 Gaelic Football finals were held in Lissycasey on 21st May. Many thanks for Mary Keane from Lissycasey who co-ordinated the competition. Kilmihil were the Gold medal winners and go on to represent Clare in the Munster Finals in July.

The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games Gaelic Football U-10 Competition was held on Saturday 22nd in St Flannans College in glorious sunshine. Competition was high with some very good matches. The co-ordinator was Fiach McHugh and referee was Flan O’Reilly from Cratloe. In quarter finals Ennis St John’s got a walkover from Shannon. Clarecastle/Ballyea beat Doora/Barefield to qualify for semi final. In the semi finals Kilrush beat Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry and Ennis St John’s beat Clarecastle/Ballyea. In the Finals Kilrush were the stronger team and came out as gold medal winners. Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry beat Clarecastle/Ballyea for the bronze medals. Kilrush now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals hosted by Clare in July.
