About Rounders Print

The Rounders competition caters for both boys and girls in the U/13 and U/15 age groups. A Panel consists of 12, with 9 players and each match consists of 5 innings.

Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.

Full Rounders rules are available for download from the Community Games website.

County winners progress to the Munster Finals in July and the Provincial winners progress to the National Finals in Athlone on the second weekend in August, usually towards the end of August.

National Rounders 2010 Print

The U-15 Boys Rounders team from Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry and the U-13 Girls Rounders team from Clarecastle/Ballyea both won Gold at the Munster Finals in UL in July 2010.  The boys from Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry went on to win Silver at the National Finals in Athlone in August, beating Mayo in the semi final but losing out to a good team from Cavan in the final.  The girls from Clarecastle/Ballyea returned home from the Nationals with 4th place medals.

Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry Rounders

 
County Rounders 2010 Print

The County Rounders competition was wrapped up by Margaret O'Halloran (Sixmilebridge) on Tuesday 8th June at the school field in Sixmilebridge. The U-15 Girls from Kilmihil, the U-15 Boys from Sixmileridge/Kilmurry and the U-13 Girls from Clarecastle all progress uncontested through to the Munster finals in July. However, there was a long competition to decide the outcome of the U-13 Boys competition, which lasted 2 hours and went on for 5 innings and which drew a large crowd. In the end Clarecastle came out winners beating Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry into second place.
