The Golden Vale County Clare Tag Rugby competition was held on Saturday 7th May in St Flannan's, Ennis. In the U11 competition Clarecastle took gold, Quin/Clooney silver with Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry taking bronze. In the U14 event Quin/Clooney came first with Clarecastle in second place. Winners represent Clare in the Munsters in July in UL.

Tag Rugby is a Mixed team competition catering for the following age groups: U/11, U/14 and U/16. A Panel consists of 12, with 7 on the team. A minimum of 2 girls must be on the field at all times.
Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.

County winners progress to the Munster Finals in July and the Provincial winners progress to the National Finals in Athlone on the second weekend in August, usually towards the end of August.

The U-11 Tag Rugby team from Clarecastle/Ballyea won Gold at the Munster Finals in UL in July 2010 and then went on to secure Bronze medals at the National Finals in Athlone in August. Well done to the mixed panel of: Sean Dolan, Luke McDermott, Killian McDermott, Lorcan Clancy, Ronan Donnelly, Niall Galvin, Ellen Barry, Rachel Hartigan, Aoibhin Donnelly, Barry Neylon, Eamon Breen and Eoin Mangan. |

Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games had a very busy time over the past few weeks with all teams to represent Clare in the Munster Finals in July now decided. The Tag Rugby competitions were held on Monday last in St Flannans College with Aidan McDermott of Clarecastle/Ballyea the co-ordinator. This is becoming a very popular competition with the children.
