The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games Table Tennis finals took place in Ennis on 27th January. An Droichead once again did well, winning the Gold in the U16 Boys and U13 Girls event, and Silver in the U13 Boys.

The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games Table Tennis tournament took place in Ennis on Friday 18th February. In the Under 13 competition, Ennis St Johns (boys) and Broadford (girls) automatically qualified for the Munsters. The competition was stiffer in the Boys Under 16 competition, with a total of 6 teams participating: Ennis St Johns got gold and silver, bronze went to Clarecastle/Ballyea and fourth to Killimer/Knockerra. If anyone has an unused Table Tennis table gathering dust, contact us and we will find it a good home in your locality! |

The Table Tennis competition caters for Boys and Girls in the Under 13 and Under 16 age groups. The panel consists of 3 players and up to 2 substitutes.
Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.
All games will consist of 5 sets. To win a set a player must reach 11 points and win by 2 points. If the score goes to 10 all, play will continue with service changing every point, (up to 10 all service consists of 2 points) until one player wins by 2 points.
The line out for the singles will consist of 3 players who will be numbered 1,2,3. The doubles will consist of any two players from the entire panel of 5. A total of 7 matches are played. Each of the 3 players contest 2 matches and there is 1 doubles match.
Competitors must wear a dark non-reflective shirt, shorts or skirt and tennis shoes.

The County finalists progress to the Munster finals around March, and the winners of the Munsters progress to the Nationals in May.
