Important Information for All
Please note that there are limited catering facilities at this venue so families are advised to bring their own refreshments, including water.
Please note that there is a charge of €5 cash per adult entering the athletics track area. Children go free.
Each area is allocated a space around the athletics track and this is the recommended meetup point for team manager, athletes, parents, supporters etc. Some areas bring a gazebo to shelter from the sun, or rain, as case may be!
A team of volunteers setup the track area on the Saturday afternoon, so if areas have gazebos, these can be erected at that time to save time on the Sunday.
Each area must have a designated Manager who is the liaison person between area athletes/parents and the athletics officials on site. All communication with officials must be done via this designated person.
There will be a parade of area athletes around the track at the start of the day, commencing 9:30am, so areas are encouraged to participate in this with banners, mascots etc.
Full details of the athletics programme and schedule of events will be published on this page and available to download nearer the time. The first athletics event will start around 10am after the official opening ceremony, reading of the Community Games pledge and lighting of the flame.
Important Information for Area Secretaries/Managers
Areas can collect their envelopes from Rob Stephen in O'Sullivan Park, Lees Road on Saturday 31st May between 4-6pm, near the athletics hut to rear of track.
If unable to collect on Saturday, please collect from Mary Brown from 8am on Sunday 1st June.
Please remind all parents/spectators that there is a €5 cash entry fee per adult.
The area envelope will contain:
Stick-on area numbers for the entrants - note that the stick on numbers can be hard to remove so it may be easier to use safety pins to attach same.
Small number of safety pins for emergencies - please bring additional safety pins.
Printout of the QR code for the day's programme (available online as a PDF) - suggest download in advance.
A black sack for rubbish - please ensure your designated area is rubbish free on departure. There will be a Clean Ireland Recycling skip outside the track area so please tie rubbish sack and place in skip when leaving.
One luminous yellow entry wristband for the designated area manager to wear for identification purposes and free entry. The designated Garda Vetted area manager is the only person permitted to approach officials.
